Company History

Learning and Training

Xyro began by developing innovative XR technology educational modules for K-12 schools in Minnesota, focusing on multi-sensory learning for reading. We then transitioned to creating XR labs for higher education, partnering with universities to develop custom course content and establishing an extensive library of XR labs. Our educational training program, Xyro Learn, introduces engineering students to XR development.

Building on this foundation, we expanded our focus to include business-to-business collaborations. We now partner with industrial manufacturing companies to create walkthrough training modules that teach workers how to assemble products virtually. Our refined approach emphasizes B2B industrial XR training labs while maintaining our commitment to higher education through specialized STEM and Industrial learning experiences. This strategic shift leverages the expertise of our early-stage developers, ensuring impactful and efficient development of XR labs.

CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT

Construction and Architecture

Partnering with post-secondary institutions to create custom XR labs that offer a hands-on learning experiences, allowing students to better visualize and interact with complex concepts. Each porject is tailored to specific course content through collaboration with educators, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.

CASTING CONCRETE LAB

The lab begins with pouring and spreading concrete from a truck using a spreader. Users then smooth the concrete with a 2x4 plank and a bull float, outline and perfect edges with trowels, cut seams, and remove excess concrete. The final step involves brushing the surface with a broom to achieve the desired texture, completing the realistic concrete casting process.

MASONRY BRICK LAB

Users practice applying mortar, positioning bricks, and ensuring alignment. After refining their skills, users compete against an industry-standard automatic bricklaying robot, allowing them to compare their bricks per minute directly with the robot's performance. This experience allows students to learn practical bricklaying skills.

Meet The Founders

RILEY LARSON

Driven by a passion for improving education, Riley's journey began in high school when he was introduced to XR technology during a demonstration by Phillip Durose. This sparked his interest in using technology to create better learning experiences. While studying Management Information Systems at the University of Minnesota, Riley co-founded Xyro, aiming to develop innovative XR solutions for education and industry. His leadership has been key to Xyro’s success, leading the company to win the BETA MN startup showcase and secure partnerships with companies like Microsoft for Startups. Riley’s strategic decisions, including refining Xyro’s focus to better align with industry needs, have driven the company’s growth and led to the successful completion of 11 diverse projects across various sectors. His commitment to using technology to enhance education continues to guide Xyro's mission and impact.

PHILLIP DUROSE

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

COMPANY HISTORY

Innovating Learning and Training

Xyro began by developing educational modules for K-12 schools in Minnesota, focusing on multi-sensory learning for reading. As we grew, we recognized the potential to make a broader impact and shifted our focus to higher education.

We started creating immersive labs that offer students a hands-on learning approach, helping them grasp complex concepts more effectively. To further support education, we launched Xyro Learn, a program that equips engineering students with the skills to develop their own XR content.

Seeing new opportunities, we expanded into industrial manufacturing, where we now design XR training walkthroughs that allow workers to learn and practice their skills before stepping onto the job site.

From K-12 classrooms to universities and industrial settings, Xyro’s mission has always been clear: to enhance learning and training through innovative technologies.
